POSITION SUMMARY:
This position reports to the Director of Professionalism and serves as the Director’s personal and confidential assistant performing administrative functions that require independent decision making.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Performing a variety of tasks involving organization and coordination of activities in the Director’s Office, which also involves the four bureaus in the Division (Bureau of Standards, Bureau of Training, Bureau of Professional Development, and Bureau of Policy and Special Programs);
- Reviewing incoming mail addressed to the Director, prioritizing items by subject and date, and referring correspondence to the appropriate bureau for proper handling;
- Monitoring projects and assignments to ensure proper and timely follow-up and completion by assigned staff;
- Coordinating, verifying and submitting monthly/quarterly reports of division office activities;
- Maintaining a filing system for various Division reports and projects and assuring that files are kept current;
- Monitoring administrative activities related to the Professionalism Division function to include directing office operational activities, formulating travel activities, and scheduling and coordinating meetings and conferences;
- Reviewing, assisting and tracking travel vouchers and reimbursements for Director’s Office members to ensure compliance with all departmental and State rules and regulations;
- Assisting the Director in coordinating, scheduling and implementing the activities of various groups such as quarterly Commission meetings and conferences; and
- Assisting the Director in researching materials, preparing various reports, drafting correspondence, and the preparation of materials in connection with presentations to and for the Commissioner, and various Commissions and Policy Boards.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication;
- Knowledge of office procedures and practices;
- Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques;
- Ability to understand and apply agency and State rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
- Ability to operate computers and other office equipment;
- Ability to work independently by planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments; and
- Ability to communicate effectively.

BASE SALARY:
- $42,561.74
NOTES:
Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
