HIRING SALARY RANGE:  $2,115.38 - $2,692.31 / biweekly range

You will make a difference by serving the Transportation needs of Florida’s citizens and communities.  Specific responsibilities of this position include:

This position acts as a liaison to statewide, regional, and national stakeholder organizations in the transportation industry to establish communications, facilitate meetings, and secure department participation at key conferences and related events. Identifies opportunities and assists with developing partnerships with other state and local organizations to help tell FDOT’s story and raise awareness of FDOT and its core mission.

 

Helps to coordinate external event and logistics preparation. This includes working in coordination with the communications office, scheduling team, and others, in the facilitation of event logistics. Prepares briefing resource materials such as agendas, speeches, participant bios, etc., for the Secretary and Executive Team’s use during external functions. Prepares forecast of opportunities and recommends items deriving the greatest impact and return on investment.

 

Creates, coordinates, and manages strategic efforts for business development to engage partners and potential opportunities in advancing transportation infrastructure, including building relationships to grow strong connections for the Department. Develops and coordinates internal and external messaging in conjunction with the Communications Office related to the Secretary and department priorities. This includes the development of videos, newsletters, scripts, PowerPoints and other forms of media that is most impactful in messaging to various audiences to ensure internal and external stakeholders are informed of the agency priorities. Performs specialized and technical assignments for the Secretary and Chief of Staff.

 

Serves as JustFOIA Functional Coordinator for the Florida Department of Transportation, the department’s portal for handling requests for assistance, public information, and other general inquiries. The Functional Coordinator serves as an agent and is responsible and accountable for the following activities: Communications; System Integration, Mobile Applications, Payments, Policies and Procedures, Security, System Configuration and Management, Technical Assistance, Training, User Management and Vendor Coordination.

 

Coordinates and provides direct support to the Secretary and other Executive Leadership for external engagements including staffing and logistics. Travel to events as required.

 

The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of organizational and functional responsibilities; various computer software programs to aid in the development of documents; leadership and management principles for the development and implementation of the organization’s mission and goals; and the structure of Florida government. Ability to work independently, establish workload priorities and meet deadlines; organize data into logical formats for a variety of audiences in written form; and maintain and establish effective working relationships with others. Skilled in conducting research and organizing results in a logical format; communicating clearly in writing; using plain language that is easy to understand; and strong verbal skills
