JOB SUMMARY:

The Florida Department of Revenue is seeking qualified candidates to join its Office of Employee Relations team as an Employee Relations Consultant. The selected candidate will work on a variety of employment and labor relations issues, including employee corrective action, grievances, and related matters.

 

Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Consulting with managers and supervisors on employee conduct and performance issues to arrive at an appropriate resolution consistent with agency policies, procedures, and applicable statutes and rules.
  • Reviewing and investigating complaints alleging violation of the agency’s Standards of Conduct or other policies and approving appropriate corrective action.
  • Preparing or assisting in the preparation of corrective action and grievance documentation.
  • Responding to employee inquiries related to employee relations matters.
  • Coordinating and conducting Career Service Pre-Determination Conferences.
  • Drafting or revising Employee Relations-related policies, procedures, guides, and job aids.
  • Analyzing and reporting on Employee Relations-related legislation.
  • Developing and conducting training on Employee Relations topics.
  • Serving as team lead or supporting team members in completing special projects as assigned.
  • Assisting, as needed, in other functional areas within Employee Relations including, but not limited to, processing grievances, Americans with Disabilities Act accommodation requests, Employee Assistance and Fitness-for-Duty referrals, and Reemployment Assistance cases.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two years of professional experience working on employee relations matters, including employee discipline issues, in the last 6 years.
  • Experience consulting with managers, supervisors, and employees on employee relations matters.
  • Experience preparing disciplinary action documentation.
  • Experience interpreting rules, policies, and procedures. 
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

PREFERENCES:

  • Experience in labor relations.
  • Experience compiling and analyzing data.
  • Experience preparing reports.
  • Knowledge of State of Florida Career Service discipline and grievance statutes and rules.
  • Experience leading or managing projects.

  • Final salary will be based on demonstrated experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

SALARY: $50,500.08 - $53,565.24
