General Summary
This is work conducting investigations of alleged violations of the Code of Ethics for public officers and employees or other breaches of public trust for the Commission on Ethics.
Examples of Work Performed
- Travels throughout the state to conduct complex, sensitive field investigations of alleged violations of the Code of Ethics for public officers and employees or other breaches of public trust.
- Interviews witnesses; inspects and analyzes records.
- Identifies, collects, and evaluates documents and other photographic or physical evidence.
- Prepares comprehensive written reports of investigation.
- Consults with and advises the Advocate on preparation of cases at the public hearing stage.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or its equivalent and eight years of experience in conducting investigations or regulatory inspections or in law enforcement; or,
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and four year of experience as described above.
A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.
A doctorate from an accredited college or university can substitute for two years of the required experience; or,
Any combination of education and experience in investigative work that totals eight years.
Salary
Hiring Range is $40,000 - $49,300. Positions are usually filled at or near base.
