SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This professional accounting position is responsible for the following duties:
- Ensure compliance with §215.422 F.S., the Reference Guide for State Expenditures, department procedures, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other fiscal standards, for the timely and accurate payment of the department’s legal liabilities.
- Verify and process entries utilizing Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR), Budget and Accounting Reporting System (BARS), Florida Accountability Contract Tracking System (FACTS), and Ariba on Demand (AOD).
- Audit invoices for proper certification and authorization to pay; review source documents, such as invoices, contracts, purchase orders, vouchers, receipts, requisitions, or similar materials. Identify inaccuracies, such as math errors, missing or inaccurate information. Responsible for timely input of adjusting entries.
- Analyze vouchers daily to ensure they are current, complete, accurate, and marked “ready for QA” timely in Axiom Pro.
- Create and maintain assigned contract logs. Review and analyze accounting records including, but not limited to, Contract balances, FACTS, allotment balances, encumbrances, and payables. Review contract amendments and document per procedure.
- Provide accounting support to staff, vendors, auditors, and other internal/external customers in a timely manner.
- Reconcile contract payment logs at a minimum, quarterly.
- Maintain minimum required Departmental annual training hours and attends sufficient additional training in all relevant areas of accounting and computer systems to remain current and efficient.
- Assist with year-end closing activities of the section and the certified forward process.
- Performs other related duties as required, including special projects.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or its equivalent and two (2) years of experience in administrative work, accounting, and auditing OR a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience using MFMP/AOD or Flair.
- Experience in Accounts Payable/Disbursement.
- Experience in Contract Disbursement..
