This advertisement is for a SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located at Central Office in Infrastructure & Operations.
Salary: $106,822.82 Annual Rate
SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for planning, directing, controlling, and organizing the delivery of computer services on a statewide basis.
- Responsible for organizing and supervising the area of infrastructure & Operations to handle the development, maintenance and delivery of IT services.
- Responsible for creation and deployment of reporting, metrics and measures for the staff and supported services.
- Assists in the development and management of Service Level Agreement (SLA) values with Business and IT Leadership.
- Assists in the further development of Infrastructure Technology Service Management (ITSM).
Examples: Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release Management, Network Services, Infrastructure Services, Continuity Management, and Continual Service Improvement.
- Keeps abreast of technological advances in IT systems and the general computing technology field to remain professionally competent and retain high level of expertise.
- Directs and is responsible for the research, exploration, and development of new and emerging computer technologies, to determine any benefit to the Department.
- Assists in the development, implementation, and monitoring for compliance through policies, rules, standards and procedures to provide a quality-based service to all users.
- Serves as the Department's in-house consultant and advisor systems related to issues for Central Office.
- Serves as liaison and coordinator with Service Center IT staff on plans, equipment rollouts and software implementations.
- Monitors the capacity, performance, and responsiveness of computer systems and services, and develops upgrades and replacement plans as needed.
- Responsible for providing hardware and software support including troubleshooting services Department wide.
- Develops configurations and sets architectural standards for use Department wide.
- Directs and conducts the acquisition process computer systems.
- In concert with the Bureau of Procurement and other Office of Information Technology staff, participates in the preparation, evaluation, and awarding of IT systems related to various procurement vehicles (Request for Information, Quotes, Proposals, etc.).
- Participates in the development of and directs the implementation of the Department’s security policies and procedures as they relate to IT systems.
- Responsible for conducting systems related “risk analysis” and certifying to the appropriate oversight agencies its completeness. This includes identifying risks and taking action to minimize those risks.
- Develops, implements, and monitors backup and recovery procedures for data, programs, and other information. This includes disaster recovery and business restoration planning.
- Evaluates and submits for approval requests for IT system projects and modifications to existing systems are requested by users or technical staff. This includes setting priorities.
- Serves as the Department’s Infrastructure contact person both inside and outside the agency.
- Responsible for conducting feasibility studies and special projects.
- Provides the hardware and software foundation for the Department’s internet/intranet client workstations and servers and supports them as needed.
- Supports the Chief Information Officer and works closely with other Office of Information Technology administrators and staff to ensure the continuous delivery of high-quality information technology resources to the Department staff.
- Provides excellent customer service and support.
The position has 5 direct report management positions for the following areas:
Network:
- Local Area Network (LAN) wired and wireless, Wide Area Network (WAN), Distributed Enterprise Network over 300 sites.
- Layer 2, Layer 3 switching and routing, Firewall Services, Internet Proxy Services, IPsec VPN (Internet Protocol Security Virtual Private Network), DNS (Domain Name System), DHCP (Dynamic Host. Configuration Protocol), WLANs (Wireless Local Area Network).
- Virtual Routed Framework (VRF) connectivity MFN, RBS, SDWAN.
Service Desk:
- Tier one and after-hours support for key areas.
- Change Management process.
- Incident Management process.
- Problem Management process.
- User account provisioning.
- Helpdesk call center management.
Telecommunications:
- Telephony services including VoIP and SIP (over data circuit).
Server Support:
- Configuration Management.
- Lifecycle Management
- Active Directory
- Cloud architecture and support.
Endpoint/Mobile Device Management:
- Mobile Device Management.
- Configuration and deployment of multiple device types.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four (4) or more years of technical work experience. Postsecondary education may substitute on a year-for-year bases for the required experience.
- Three (3) or more years of experience supervising over a technical team.
