Community Corrections Circuit Administrator-DC
Salary:
$114,274.68 annually ($4,395.18 biweekly)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be currently employed with the Florida Department of Corrections.
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of professional probation and/or community corrections experience, three (3) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
- Must be a Certified Probation Officer.
- Must be a Certified Florida Department of Law Enforcement Instructor.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer and oversee the operations of Community Corrections activities and supervise community release programs in a Judicial Circuit to ensure that supervision and investigative services are provided to offenders in accordance with Florida Statutes, Department Rules and Procedures.
- Ensure compliance with offender records by maintaining inactive file security through an established inactive file tracking system; maintaining confidentiality when responding to public records requests, information requests, and when disclosing protected health information; ensuring missing files are reconstructed as necessary in order to maintain offender records as required; processing circuit orders to seal or expunge records; and ensuring the records disposal process is carried out in the designated time period.
- Ensure compliance with Florida Crime Information Center II/National Crime Information Center.
- Assist in collections of documentation required and maintenance of circuit files required for American Correctional Association (ACA) audits. Assist in operational review process as required and if standards are found in non-compliance implement the corrective action plan and follow up to ensure improvement in that area.
- Review approved public service work site agreements to ensure they meet procedural requirements and provide a current listing of approved work sites to staff and the chief judge of the circuit.
- Review to determine if offenders are eligible for community control supervision and take appropriate action if found to be ineligible.
- Review and respond to recommendations for early terminations, reduced reporting, and placement on administrative probation or regular probation from community control.
- Ensure positions are filled expeditiously and that staffing ratios are balanced within probation offices within the circuit.

- Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution. This may include strategic planning, resource allocation, manpower modeling, leadership techniques, and production methods.

- Knowledge of instructional methods and training techniques including curriculum design principles, learning theory, group and individual teaching techniques, design of individual development plans, and test design principles.
- Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
- Knowledge of human behavior and performance, mental processes, psychological research methods, and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
- Skills in motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
- Skills in weighing the relative costs and benefits of a potential action.
- Skills in adjusting actions in relation to others' actions and identifying the nature of problems.
- Skills in listening to what other people are saying and asking questions as appropriate.
