This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Programs and Re-Entry. This is an anticipated vacancy with a vacancy date of May 23, 2025.

 

Salary: $61,800.18 Annual Rate

 

SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must be capable of working independently, communicating effectively, and interfacing with the staffs of both state institutions and private facilities.  Must possess leadership characteristics and administrative capabilities.

  • Monitor delivery of and provide training to ensure understanding of the State of Florida High School Equivalency Exam (GED) across all Department and contract facilities for compliance with all Pearson VUE, FLDOE, GED, and FDC policies and procedures.
  • Monitor delivery of and provide training to ensure understanding of the Academic Skills Test across all Department and contract facilities for compliance with FLDOE and FDC policies and procedures to include Special Education/ADA compliance.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the State of Florida High School Equivalency Exam (GED) and the Academic Skills Assessment as well as historical knowledge of the assessments so as to provide technical support to staff and administration.
  • Maintain knowledge of specific site’s Department mission so as to provide appropriate advice and technical support regarding the delivery of the State of Florida High School Equivalency Exam and the Academic Skills Test to all populations.
  • Monitoring of the Department’s supply of testing devices to ensure that a sufficient number of working devices are present at all sites through regular communication with site staff and OIT staff.
  • Provide onsite and virtual technical support for new and veteran testing staff.
  • Monitor and assist with the processing of High School Diploma and GED verification requests for currently housed inmates.
  • Monthly invoice processing of State of Florida High School Equivalency Exam (GED) expenditures.
  • Evaluate and approve GED exam exception requests submitted for inmates not meeting the required assessment scores to sit for the GED exam.
  • Prepare and provide reports pertaining to GED completions for both calendar and fiscal years.
  • Process and submit requests for GED exam acommodations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Four (4) or more years of administration of standardized tests experience. Postsecondary education may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
