This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Region 1 in the Administrative Service Center.

 

Salary: $57,165.16 Annual Rate

 

SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The incumbent in this position is expected to become familiar in the department's development, improvement, and readiness initiatives; display leadership skills that demonstrate the department's commitment to programming efforts for inmates while maintaining a professional demeanor. This is position is responsible for implementing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating institutional adult education and library services region-wide, provides training and technical assistance to institutional staff as needed, coordinates TABE/GED testing, and maintains and evaluates adult education program data.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Plans budgetary requests and all purchasing functions related to the ordering and receipt of materials and supplies.
  • Provides staff development training to institutional staff.
  • Collects, evaluates, and analyzes data on existing programs to recommend improvements while promoting the most efficient and effective accomplishment of operational objectives at the lowest cost.
  • Evaluates programs to ensure seamless delivery of services to the inmate population.
  • Conducts site visits at correctional institutions to identify potential problems and recommend corrective action.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness and quality assurance of programs and ensures that programs are in compliance with department policies and Department of Education program guidelines by assisting with operational reviews of education programs.
  • Monitors programs to ensure they are operated in accordance with Florida Statutes, department rules and regulations, grant requirements, and contracts or formal agreements.
  • Provides technical assistance and information to staff and institutions related to all adult education areas, and general library and law library practices.
  • Maintains TABE/GED and other certification as required and assists with testing administration as needed.
  • Maintains accurate data related to adult education program enrollments and testing at institutions within the designated region.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four (4) or more years of experience working in academic education. Postsecondary education may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
