This advertisement is for a SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located at Central Office in Finance and Accounting.
Salary: $74,079.72 Annual Rate

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is an administrative accounting/supervisory position that is responsible for the planning, coordination, anddirection of the Revenue Section within the Bureau of Finance and Accounting. This position:
- Supervises, coordinates, and participates in the processing of revenue and expenditure refunds depositing and recording, journal transfers processing, expenditure refunds request, invoicing, and other related accounting activities.
- Ensure that identified reconciling entries are recorded in FLAIR, in accordance with GAAP and that corrective action is taken to minimize future adjustments.
- Organizes, coordinates, and monitors section workflow and operations to achieve established goals and objectives; adjusts workload as necessary to meet work priorites.
- Serves as liaison between the Department’s sections and program areas and the Department of Financial Services and third-party debt collections agency, direct courses of action regarding write-off , and debt collection action.
- Appropriately submits receivables to third-party debt collections agency as required.
- Submits receivables to the Department of Financial Services for write-off permission, while obtaining prior permission from program areas and management.
- Provides annual reports as required by Florida Statue, quarterly revenue summary report, and other reports as requested by management or outside parties.
- Monitors thef subsidiary records to ensure an accurate reflection of the accounts recivables to the Department.
- Ensures the subsidiary records are reflecting accurately the accrued revenues at year-end.
- Timely provides timely the Unverified Deposits report to the Financial Reporting Section at year-end.
- Develops, updates, and implements new and revised processes and procedures as needed for revenue collection and reconciliation of accounts including any modifications or updates to FLAIR or other accounting systems. It includes policies, procedures, and regulations to the members of the Revenue team.
- Ensures the FL PALM’s implementation tasks related to the Revenue Section are timely addressed. It includes but not limited to respond internal and external request, testing, training, and update of processes.
- Develops, implements and routinely monitors position descriptions and related performance standards for all section members to ensure they accomplish the Bureau of Finance and Accounting’s goals and objectives.
- Oversees the supervision of revenue and grants. Provides and coordinates training, plans workloads, workflows, deadlines, work objectives and time utilization for Revenue Section members in an effort to prevent errors and reconciliation issues. Guides and advises Revenue Section members on procedural processes in areas of responsibility. Assists Revenue Section memebers with resolution of problems by providing methodologies that are appropriate and which confirm to applicable regulations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be currently employed with the Florida Department of Corrections.
- Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent and two (2) years of experience in revenue and accounting.
