This advertisement is for a Career Service position located in the Office of the Inspector General/Head Quarters in Tallahassee, FL.
The Bureau of State Investigations/Law Enforcement conducts and coordinates complex investigations designed to detect, deter, prevent, and eradicate fraud, waste, mismanagement, misconduct, and other abuses in state government. The investigative authority is pursuant to FSS 944.31, Inspector general; inspectors; power and duties; FSS 20.055, Agency inspectors general and FSS 943, Department of Law Enforcement.
This position will be located in the following county:
- Leon County
Salary: $39,320.84 annually
SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position performs highly responsible records management duties for the Office of the Inspector General, Department of Corrections, and provides Use of Force management technical assistance and guidance to thirteen district supervisors and support staff.
Planning and Organizing: ·
- Trains staff/interns regarding administrative duties.
- Utilizes computer databases, electronic spreadsheets, word processing, and records management systems for data entry, records research and compiling.
- Assists with special projects that include collection and entry of data.
- Acts as liaison between Inspector Supervisor/Lead Inspector and administrative staff.
- Oversees the intake of Use of Force files.
- Processes Use of Force files by notating receipt of file, scanning, labelling, and data entry.
- Coordinates the assignment Use of Force files to individual inspectors.
- Serves as final approver for file closure in records management system.
- Audits data entry/intake of UOF information in records management system.
- Maintains security of Use of Force videos until filed and secured in records storage.
- Responsible for the dissemination of all Reports of Force Used to institutional management.
- Ensures approving authority determination and signature noted on Use of Force documentation.
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information such as open criminal/administrative investigations and HIPAA.
- Prepares reports for supervisory review

- Proficiency with modern office equipment (PC, Copiers, Fax Machines).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must possess a valid drivers license.
- Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Must have two (2) years of administrative and/or clerical experience.
