This advertisement is for an OPS (Other Personal Services) position located at the Carlton Building in Tallahassee, FL in the Citizen Services department.

 

Salary: $16.11-17.07 per hour

 

SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

In compliance with the Customer Service Standards Act, F.S. 23.30, the Department's Citizens' Services Office provides an avenue for the public to obtain information and inquire about issues relative to the Florida Department of Corrections.

  • Flexible schedule between 30-40 hours per week will be considered within normal business hours (8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday- Friday).
  • This is a highly professional position whose duties include serving as the primary phone operator for the Citizen Services team. Responsibilities include answering, screening, and routing telephone calls to the appropriate staff members within the Department and assist in providing general information.
  • This position also serves as the receptionist for the FDC central office visitor lobby, checking in and out visitors, issuing visitor badges, and maintaining visitor forms and files.
  • Assists with correspondence from the Governor’s Office of Citizen Services, the public, and other state agencies.
  • It is vital that the incumbent be well versed in providing excellent customer service and can effectively handle general calls, emails and postal mail directed to the Department.

You contribute 7.5% of your compensation to this tax deferred plan. All OPS employees are required to participate in this plan and are automatically enrolled.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with letter writing and phone etiquette.
  • Experience with letter writing and phone etiquette.
  • Experience with computer databases.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
