This advertisement is for an OPS position located in the Office of Human Resources - Employee Relations unit.

Hourly Rate of Pay: 24.04

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is assigned to the Employee Relations Section of the Human Resources Office. The incumbent will be responsible for preparing and processing all levels of counseling memoranda, written reprimands, predetermination conference letters, final action letters, dismissals and other related disciplinary correspondence. Enter information into the discipline database as needed. Will review career service and union grievances and prepare responses as needed and enter information into the Human Resources Tracking System. The incumbent will also be responsible for preparing supervisory and mandatory Employee Assistance Program referrals, medical opinion letters, scheduling fit for duty evaluations and other program areas responsibilities within Employee Relations. Will assist with training staff on Employee Relations processes as well as assisting with complex/complicated cases and serve as a back up to the EEO Coordinator.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA’s):

  • Skills in communicating effectively with others and maintain a professional working relationship with supervisors and staff.
  • Skills in speaking or talking to others to effectively convey information.
  • Ability to understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of the State of Florida Personnel Rules.
  • Ability to read and gather information from multiple documents to prepare an official document.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess at least four (4) years of experience in one or more of the areas such as Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Recruitment, Payroll, Leave and Attendance, Classification and Pay, Employee Benefits, investigative experience reviewing documents and/or evidence, investigating complaints, professional office experience preparing and tracking action letter, legal documents and/or other similar correspondence. Investigation experience to include reviewing documents for investigative purposes to determine facts of a case or provide conclusion for a case would also qualify. The applicant should have experience reviewing and processing information from multiple documents and various sources to prepare official documents.
    • Education can substitute for the required experience at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours per year.
