Position located in Central Office, Tallahassee, FL (Leon County)

 

Hourly Salary:  $18.00

 

SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.

 

The State of Florida, Department of Corrections is seeking a Personnel Technician III – OPS to work for the Office of Human Resources in Central Office in Tallahassee, Florida. 

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is responsible for assisting the Human Resource Manager for the Bureau of Personnel, in its daily operation. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the processing of Correctional Officer applications and conducting background investigations.
  • Assist with the maintenance of recruitment and selection packages.
  • Provides customer service and assistance to the Department’s employees and applicants via telephone and through electronic correspondence.
  • Assists with collecting required background investigation documents and forms.
  • Utilizes various computer programs used by the Department, including, but not limited to People First, Corrections Data Center (CDC), DAVID, ATMS, FCIC/NCIC, CCIS, SharePoint, Excel, Word, internet and word processing, data bases, spreadsheet applications, reports, logs, and documents.
  • Assists visitors, answers questions, and refers to proper personnel as needed.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s):

  • Knowledge of office rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of computer software including applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge of computer programs used by the Department (i.e., People First, ATMS, CDC, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the Agencies and Department of Management Services Personnel rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of methods of research tools, personal computers, data collection and analyzes.
  • Skills in time management
  • Ability to organize and maintain personnel related records.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques and make independent decisions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
  • Ability to compose correspondence.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or its equivalent
