Personnel Technician III – 70900448
This advertisement is for an OPS (Other Personal Services) position located at Central Office in the Office of Administration.
Salary: $18.00 Hourly Rate
SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages the Security Services Unit (SSU) process of statewide lateral and demotion requests.
- Assists with establishing written procedures and develops tracking mechanisms to ensure that appropriate time frames are met for all aspects of employee recruitment and selection. Drafts memorandums and other correspondence for the SSU section.
- Initiates and completes Personnel Action Requests (PAR) for the SSU promotions and demotions.
- Provides direction and guidance to central office employees and field personnel offices on a variety of personnel matters including Request Process, Request Review Process, Required Documentation, Data Tracking & Collection and Employee Records.
- Responsible for resolving problems regarding application submission to lateral and demotion inbox, request review process, data tracking/collection, etc. and providing technical assistance.
- Aids and guidance to the employees and hiring managers on policy and procedure.
- Utilizes various computer programs used by the Department of Corrections, including but not limited to People-first, Internet, ATMS, and various word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications.
- Maintains an extensive filing system of electronic and paper records, copies and redacts files as required in response to public records requests, and archives and destroys files according to retention schedules.
- Completes training timely and as required.
- Performs other duties as required.

You contribute 7.5% of your compensation to this tax deferred plan. All OPS employees are required to participate in this plan and are automatically enrolled.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- One (1) year of professional human resources, administrative or clerical experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient and experienced in using Microsoft Office (i.e., SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
