SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is a professional accounting position that is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and monitoring FLAIR financial data for financial reporting and reconciliation purposes. Duties may include but will not be limited to the following:
- Assists with the completion of the Department’s monthly and fiscal year-end closing process.
- Performs various financial reporting and reconciliation activities during the year such as, but not limited to, reconciling FLAIR, reconciling cash receipts and disbursements to Central Accounting cash receipts and disbursements, reconciling property, reconciling, and confirming interfund and interagency transaction balances, monitoring the Trial Balance, and preparing the revolving fund quarterly reports.
- Assists with the preparation of the annual financial forms and supporting schedules for the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Department of Financial Services Statewide Financial Reporting requirements.
- Assists with the preparation of other financial or special reports as needed.
- Assists with setting up and maintaining the FLAIR accounting codes and employee vendor codes.
- Evaluates, analyzes, and determines appropriate FLAIR codes for effective and accurate reporting.
- Analyzes and interpret financial data to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Executes timely and appropriate corrective action to clear errors and reconciliation issues.
- Performs other related duties as required, including special projects.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four (4) or more years of government accounting experience. Postsecondary education may substitute on a year-for-year bases for the required experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three (3) or more years of experience preparing governmental financial statements.
- Two (2) or more years of FLAIR experience.
- Experience creating and/or maintaining the FLAIR Chart of Accounts codes.
- Experience creating accounting entries and reconciling financial information.
- Experience in Central/Departmental records reconciliation.
- Experience creating and/or State of Florida year-end processing experience.
