This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in the Bureau of Staff Development and Training.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The incumbent in this position is responsible for supporting the Department’s professional development initiatives to maintain a workforce that meets both the agency’s mandatory training criteria and any associated certification or licensure standards required by an individual to perform the duties of the job he/she is assigned to. Duties include conducting needs analyses, job task analyses, designing (which includes – writing, formatting, and partnering with subject matter experts) and evaluating training programs. Duties also include traveling to various locations to ensure that programs are implemented properly.
- Serves as support for the Regional Training Managers, Research and Training Specialists, Training Sergeants and other field staff engaged in the day-to-day delivery of specialized, advanced, and general topic inservice training. This requires the incumbent to review lesson plans with qualified subject matter experts on a regular basis to ensure that the lesson plan content remains relative and provide access for instructors to continually gain new knowledge and improve their preparation and delivery skills.
- Provides technical assistance to the Florida Corrections Academy – School 66 Director and Academy Coordinators in the field to ensure that all recruits receive training that meets the standards of the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission. This duty includes providing Agency support during Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) audits of the Academy’s programs.
- Assists in monitoring and evaluating technology-based training programs and prepares reports regarding the use of such programs. Conducts onsite monitoring activities necessary for the evaluation of technology-based training programs.
- Assists in processing Statewide Travel Management System (STMS) travel forms.
- Assists in inventorying property.
- Assists in reconciliation of purchase cards (P-Cards).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidates must be currently employed with the Florida Department of Corrections.
- Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and have one or more years of experience within the agency.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preference will be given to those with professional experience in staff development, training, research, program evaluation, and/or project management.
