DUTIES: Serve as an Information Technology Services (ITS) customer point of contact for the Investigations and Forensics area. Providing management of day to day production systems support.  Undertake major development projects as well as error corrections and minor enhancements to meet the needs of the Law Enforcement Investigations and Forensic Division. Manage the resources/staff assigned to deliver systems enhancements, modifications and corrections to existing production systems.  Management and supervision of information technology services within the Business Systems Engineering (BSE) Investigations and Forensic unit. This includes the complete life cycle of each system, application, and software product used by the Investigations and Forensic Division.  This also includes the effective use of information technology, productivity tools, quality control processes, monitoring and reporting, and resource utilization.  Consults with customers and conducts assessments in order to determine user needs and to define system requirements.  Provides consulting both internally and externally to FDLE and other government agencies.  Assists in the development of strategic and tactical information resource management plans.  Analyze and resolve problems with production information systems.  Conduct research and development in information technology to support the planning and enhancement of FDLE information systems.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of industry best practices in Information Systems Development Methodologies (ISDM); knowledge of industry best practices in Software Development Life Cycle management; knowledge of automated tools for problem reporting and tracking; knowledge of MS Project and other MS Office software packages; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; knowledge of the concepts and theories of data processing; knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of computer programming and systems analysis; knowledge of project control and resource estimating techniques; ability to direct feasibility and cost analysis studies; ability to do short range and long range project planning; ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments; ability to communicate technical data processing information effectively.

NOTES: Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range unless otherwise dictated by FDLE pay policy. The elements of the selection process may include a work sample and/or oral interview.
