DUTIES:  This is an Intermediate Java Developer position. It serves as a software programming analyst/developer in the development and maintenance of information systems (design, review, testing, documentation, programming, and installation). Software will be written using the FDLE approved development tools and languages in a manner consistent with the style of existing programs. All software will be tested thoroughly to ensure all new functions work as designed and all existing functions continue to work appropriately. All changes will be documented within the software itself (where possible) and in external documentation to ensure all enhancements can be made in the future. Proper implementation procedures will be followed 100% of the time. Works closely with the customers to learn their needs, and accurately translate them to text or diagrams, as appropriate. Provide assistance to other members in the performance of these tasks. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of computer programming and systems analysis and design principles and practices. Knowledge information technology trends and tools for testing and quality assurance. Ability to perform application development using JAVA and SQL Server/Oracle. Ability to process information logically. Ability to identify and define user task needs. Ability to write technical data processing reports. Ability to perform mathematical calculations. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
