Position Overview and Responsibilities:

Are you a detail-oriented analyst with a passion for turning data into actionable insights? The Financial and Budget Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the Division of Real Estate Development and Management by managing and interpreting financial, operation, and market data. This position is responsible for ensuring data integrity, performing in-depth analysis, and providing data-driven recommendations that guide strategic decisions across the division.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Data Analysis & Integrity: Perform comprehensive data quality assessments, identifying inconsistencies, duplicates, and missing information. Develop and implement strategies to ensure the accuracy and reliability of all datasets.
Strategic Reporting & Insights: Go beyond simple reporting to uncover trends and patterns in financial data. Prepare clear, concise executive summaries and dashboards that provide stakeholders with a high-level view of key financial metrics, projections, and trends.
Budgetary Support & Validation: Support all budget and procurement activities by validating financial data, running statistical tests, and ensuring the accuracy of all information used for purchasing and budget control.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal and external teams to understand business questions and provide timely, accurate data analysis and reporting. This includes assisting with legislative reporting and providing support for day-to-day operations.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in quantitative fields such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. OR 3-5 years of experience in a financial analyst, budget analyst, or similar quantitative role, with a demonstrated focus on data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting


Preferred Qualifications:

Although not required, some nice-to-haves include:

Proven experience creating and maintaining dynamic dashboards and reports using data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
Experience working with state financial and procurement systems (e.g., Ariba, FLAIR, BARS) and a strong understanding of government budget processes
Experience with statistical analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling
