SPECIAL NOTES:
This is an employment opportunity for current employees within the State Personnel System.
Two (2) years of experience in state government licensing regulation, customer service, application of Florida laws and rules, regulations, and policies and procedures required. A post-secondary degree may be used as an alternative for years of experience on a year-for-year basis.
Additional requirements:
- Minimum of three (3) months’ relevant work experience in state government licensing regulation and customer service.
- Experience working with regulated industries.
- Experience using computer software such as Microsoft Office and Adobe.
- Experience answering questions and inquiries from the public, licensees, or regulated industries relative to processes established by statutes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Knowledge of the methods of compiling and analyzing data; Knowledge of basic mathematics; Ability to review, analyze and evaluate data; Ability to prepare reports; Ability to understand, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures; Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Process claims against the Preneed Contract Consumer Protection Trust Fund.
- Reviews, finalizes and transmits signed Notices of Intent and Final Orders to licensees and the Office of General Counsel.
- Assist licensing specialists with annual preneed license renewals and mass mailout activities.
- Assist licensing staff to include processing change of address requests for individual licensees, processing requests for duplicate licenses and other license maintenance activities as directed.
- Assist with creating assignments for all regulatory compliance inspections and complaint investigations conducted by the Division. Prepares, compiles, and scans documents and data needed to create field assignments.
- Take incoming calls from consumers who have questions regarding deathcare industry matters.
- Provide backup to employees to both attend Board of Funeral, Cemetery, and Consumer Services’ meetings and prepare minutes of the meeting for distribution.
