SPECIAL NOTES: 

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration OR four (4) years of accounting experience is required.

 

Additional requirement:

  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

 

Preferences:

  • Two (2) years or more of investment accounting experience.
  • Two (2) years or more experience with auditing or creating financial statements.

 

The anticipated hiring salary range is $40,739.88 - $43,000.00 (based on experience). 

 

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

 

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures. Knowledge of methods of data collection. Ability to prepare financial statements and reports. Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records. Ability to review, analyze and evaluate data. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to independently analyze and use problem-solving techniques. Ability to work independently. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team structure. Knowledge of and ability to use Word and Excel applications.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  1. Daily processing of the General Fund’s investment activity using on investment tickets and Trust Fund and SPIA balances.
  2. Prepare monthly investment reports as part of the Investments Reconciliation Team.
  3. Assist the Investments Reconciliation Team in the interest allocation for the Treasury Investment Pool.
  4. Serve as an integral team member of the Operations Section to provide back up for the various duties within the section(s).
  5. Assist the Investments Reconciliation Team in processing any investment/ disinvestment related corrections.
  6. Perform other tasks as directed within the Operations Section.
