Your Specific Responsibilities:

The person in this position is responsible for the administration and management of the centralized call center within the Bureau of Operations, Licensure Support Services Unit, Division of Medical Quality Assurance. The employee will exercise independent judgment in formulating policies and procedures relative to communication services, training, and recruitment of new employees within the section. The section is responsible for receiving and handling incoming calls to the division regarding licensure of health care practitioners, requests for information, complaints, and mailing out laws, rules, and application packets. The General Manager directly supervises three Program Administrators and one Research & Training Specialist.

 

The position manages the development of new policies and procedures and improvements in existing processes regarding the dissemination of information to applicants regarding the initial licensure requirements and providing personal guidance to licensees to address questions related to license renewals, updating license records, and assistance in interpreting rules, laws, and policies, to meet needs more effectively and more efficiently. Provides assistance to staff regarding implementation and interpretation of rules, policies, and standards.

 

The position will provide guidance to staff regarding implementation and interpretation of rules, policies, and standards. The General Manager will coordinate with the Bureau of Health Care Practitioner Regulation’s Staff and other Licensure Support Services Staff to develop and maintain operational and procedural manuals on initial licensure requirements and renewal requirements. 

 

The incumbent will oversee the hiring and onboarding of new call agents and provide guidance and direction to subordinates including conducting review and performance planning, monitoring subordinates, and directing personnel actions. The idea candidate will have the ability to compile and analyze statistical data for planning workload, objectives, and for corrective action on policy and procedures improvements. The candidate must be able to prepare reports for management, including such data as statistics on the number of incoming calls, categories of requests, requests for copies of material and other regulatory information.

 

Provides assistance to the unit manager and bureau chief as requested on special projects.
