MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
 

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, engineering, or administrative work or
 

A master’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience or
 

Professional or nonprofessional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
 

Requires possession of a valid Driver’s License.

JOB DUTIES:
 

Responsible for coordinating the ordering, allocation, and distribution of all United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) commodities pursuant to the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), Department of Defense (DoD) Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program and other applicable federal programs for child nutrition.

 

Accurately places USDA Food requisitions into appropriate online ordering software for NSLP, SFSP, etc.; ensures orders are correctly submitted and meet all established USDA or department deadline(s). Works closely with USDA regarding all aspects of USDA Foods to ensure compliance. 

 

Administers DoD program for schools; allocates available funding; monitors expenditures; liaisons and works with DoD. Monitors fresh produce program allocations, balances, etc. and ensures agencies utilize their entitlement to the maximum extent possible. Assists USDA Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Pilot Coordinator with monitoring entitlement balances.

 

Directs and ensures that transfer, reallocation, shipment diversion and cancellation are performed accurately and timely for USDA Food orders. Monitors entitlement balances and USDA Foods allocations as necessary.

 

Provides direction and information to recipient agencies and the state contracted warehouse on how to submit complaints for USDA Foods that do not meet product specifications or issues with vendors or deliveries.

 

Directs and ensure that losses of USDA Foods are accurately documented, tracked, and submitted to USDA. Provides recipient agencies and the state contracted warehouse with instructions on how to properly dispose of out-of-condition USDA Foods.

 

Confers with federal, state, and local government agencies and other persons and organizations regarding USDA Foods programs. Handles telephone inquiries and requests from government agencies, recipient agencies, businesses, and other interested parties.

 

Provides training to sponsors/agencies and other external customers. Assists in assembling information for use in publications and training programs.

 

Develops and maintains current the Recipient Agency Procedures Manual. Monitors USDA regulations, policies, instructions, etc.; revises manual as needed. Disseminates information, manual, revisions, etc. to RA’s staff, bureau web site, etc. 

 

Performs related duties as assigned. Incumbent is considered to have regulatory responsibilities and is subject to the provisions of Chapter 60L-36 FAC.
