SPECIAL NOTES:
A bachelor’s degree from a nationally or regionally accredited college or university in business, finance, criminal justice, or public administration is preferred.
Ability to travel to conduct inspections is required.
Additional preference will be given for the following:
- At least two (2) years’ experience conducting Audits, Investigations, Inspections for an Office of Inspector General, an Internal Affairs Section of a law enforcement agency, or similar.
- A master’s degree from a college or university can substitute for one (1) year of the preferred experience.
- Training related to Florida Whistle-blower’s Act cases.
- Two (2) or more years’ experience drafting and publishing fact-based reports.
- Certified Inspector General Inspector / Evaluator.
- Microsoft Office Suite programs experience.
The salary for this position will be $50,000.00.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of mathematics and statistics
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis
- Ability to conduct fact-finding research and interviews and take statements
- Ability to understand, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Ability to conduct operational reviews to ensure efficiency of operations and compliance with applicable policies and procedures
- Ability to collect, analyze and evaluate data
- Ability to prepare statistical reports
- Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials
- Ability to use deductive reasoning
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments
- Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
This position is responsible for coordinating and conducting inspections in accordance with established standards and procedures for the Office of Inspector General.
