Your Specific Responsibilities:
This is a highly professional position responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, and providing consultative services and technical assistance for the statewide inspection program for the professions of Pharmacy, Dispensing Practitioners, Pain Clinics, Optical, Electrolysis, Massage, Dental and Office Surgery Center. The incumbent will exercise independent judgment in formulating or assisting in the formulation of policies and procedures that have significant impact to program operations. Specific duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:

  • Coordinates and manages the inspection program for the applicable professions to include: serving as the liaison between the Board offices and the field investigators, tracking and compiling statistical data reports for open and completed inspections, preparing and performing other inspection administrative and analytical duties as needed.
  • Assists in the development, coordination and implementation of statewide policies, procedures and desk guides for the applicable professions.  Identifies areas of concern and formulates recommendations for resolution.
  • Develops, modifies and uses program evaluation and quality improvement guidelines and standards to evaluate and assess statewide performance to ensure consistency and compliance with statutory and department requirements.
  • Serves as subject matter expert liaison for response to board office related questions from unit managers, inspectors, investigators, department staff and the public.
  • Routinely participates in the development of statewide training for the applicable professions. Assists in the development of training material for statewide dissemination. Holds statewide conference calls on an as needed basis.
  • Assists with bill analysis, implementation plans, response letters and projects related to inspection issues.
  • Periodically represents the unit at various departmental meetings regarding the applicable profession's inspection program and serves as liaison with other state and local agencies.
  • Act as the unit’s liaison with the internal IT for new and existing computer programs for the applicable inspectable professions. 
  • Performs other duties and assignments as required.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position: knowledge of computer software, to include Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel; ability to work independently; ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures; ability to use good judgement and decision making; data analysis and statistical reporting skills; analytical skills; ability to conduct fact-finding research; developing reports skills; customer service skills; ability to conduct problem solving; critical thinking skills; ability to communicate complex information effectively, orally and in writing; skill in written communications; ability to identify key policy issues and make recommendations to senior management officials. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

 

Qualifications:

Preference will be given to those who meet the following minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; and
  • 2 years administrative experience to include computer software, data entry, data analysis, and document preparation.
  • College education substitute for the required college education on a year for year basis.
