JOB SUMMARY:
The Florida Department of Revenue’s Information Services Program (ISP) is seeking a qualified professional to fill the role of Government Analyst I – Release Management. The incumbent will be a motivated and detail-oriented professional with strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills. The ideal candidate will work independently while collaborating with Release Management, Change Management, Configuration Management, IT teams, and business partners in a fast-paced, service-focused environment.
This position provides analytical and coordination support to ISP’s Release Management function, assisting with the planning, coordination, validation, documentation, scheduling, and tracking of technology releases and production deployments. The position supports the review of release requirements, implementation plans, testing and validation activities, dependencies, risks, approvals, and supporting documentation to help ensure releases are properly prepared and implemented in accordance with established IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and governance standards.
Working within ISP’s Change, Configuration, and Release Management function, the position collaborates with application, infrastructure, network, security, operations, and other technology teams to support the end-to-end release lifecycle. Responsibilities include coordinating release activities, tracking release readiness, maintaining release records and schedules, communicating release information to stakeholders, monitoring release outcomes and metrics, and supporting continuous improvement of Release Management processes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- One or more years of professional experience in information technology, IT service management, release management, change management, configuration management, systems analysis, operations, business analysis, program analysis, or a related analytical field.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, information systems, management, communications, or a related field of study may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
PREFERENCES:
- Experience in IT service management, release management, change management, configuration management, systems analysis, project coordination, technology operations, or a related field.
- Experience coordinating technology activities, implementations, releases, or deployments across technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Experience reviewing or coordinating release requirements, implementation plans, testing documentation, dependencies, risks, approvals, or production readiness activities.
- Experience working in an IT or enterprise service delivery environment.
- Experience using ticketing, workflow, ITSM, or service management systems to track changes, releases, requests, incidents, or other technology activities.
- Experience identifying process gaps, analyzing operational information, and recommending process improvements.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Experience with IT Service Management concepts or frameworks, such as ITIL or ISO/IEC 20000.
- Experience working in a government, enterprise, or large organizational environment.
SPECIAL NOTES:
- Tentative starting salary $51,073.92 annually.
