JOB SUMMARY:
The Florida Department of Revenue’s Information Services Program (ISP) is seeking a qualified professional to fill the role of IT Communications Specialist. The incumbent is expected to be a strategic thinker with meticulous attention to detail, capable of working well under pressure and meeting deadlines. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
The IT Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and helping to oversee the execution of internal and external communications for ISP. This position works within the IT Strategic Planning and Policy Office on behalf of the CIO to develop internal and external communication strategies and materials that align with ISP’s mission, brand, and goals.
This position is responsible for keeping ISP’s customers, suppliers, and internal technical staff informed of ISP activities through effective written and oral communications, including content creation and dissemination.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Three or more years of professional experience in communications, marketing, publications, technology, or a related field.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, English, or a related field of study may substitute on a year for year basis.
PREFERENCES:
- Experience deploying marketing and communications principles, strategies, and production processes.
- Demonstrated experience developing, editing, and publishing professional written communications such as newsletters, announcements, web content, policies, procedures, or executive briefings.
- Experience with e-mail, social media, and digital writing best practices, media management tools and software.
- Experience managing and implementing dissemination, communications, and outreach channels such as social media, email, websites, SharePoint sites, and in-person and virtual exhibit booths.
- Experience in MS Office Applications: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Teams.
- Experience working in large IT environments.
- Experience with content management systems, intranet platforms, or ticketing/workflow systems.
- Certification in, experience with, or working knowledge of ISO/IEC 20000, ITIL, or other IT service management frameworks.
SPECIAL NOTES:
- The tentative salary for this position is $51,073.92.
- This position is located at CCOC-2 (2450 Shumard Oak Blvd.).
SALARY: $48,520.20 - $53,627.64 / annually
