Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position serves to assist the contract manager of the Office of Partnership Engagement as the primary resource for promoting Department wide programs and partnerships for advancing the state’s economic development by providing support, coordination and direction for the business formation, expansion, recruitment, and retention.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • Promote positive working relationships and facilitate ongoing communication and cooperation between the Department and economic development partnerships.
  • Assist and serve as a secondary liaison between the Department and economic development partnerships to ensure efficient and seamless coordination and response to man-made and natural disasters impacting the state and its economy.
  • Coordinate, manage and support projects related to programs for the Florida ports, space, sports, business development and tourism industries.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Division and the Florida Ports Council, Space Florida, Select Florida, and other entities/partners as necessary.
  • Represent the Department and the Office at partnership board meetings, councils, conferences, and other events as needed. 
  • Draft and manage partner agreements on behalf of the department.
  • Serve as the Department’s primary liaison with partner staff and members, as appropriate. 
  • Work independently to plan, organize, and coordinate tasks.
  • Prepare summaries and analyses of proposed legislation and draft amendment language.
  • Develop program rules as required by statute.
  • Other duties as required

 

Qualifications:

As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records. 

Minimum:

  • Working knowledge of managing State agreements and contracts and the state procurement process.
  • Working knowledge of administration and monitoring of State agreements and contracts.
  • Knowledge of the state’s key economic drivers.
  • Knowledge of the legislative process and inner workings of state government.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong budget and financial management skills.
  • Proficiency in utilization of computer using Word®, Excel®, PowerPoint®.
  • Ability to produce professional level written work products.
  • Ability to perform computer-based research activities.
  • Ability to establish and effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet established deadlines.
  • Duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of the Department.
  • Travel may be required.

 

Preferred:

1 to 2 years of experience with State of Florida or Government contracts. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Pay:

$55,000-$70,000 Annually
