Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a highly responsible professional position located within the Bureau of Preparedness and Response. The position is responsible to design, monitor, track and implement projects for the Training and Exercise (T & E) Section. Projects are updated annually through a strategic planning process. The incumbent will support the T & E Administrator with documentation and monitoring of all projects assigned to the T & E Section.

 

Program Execution- The incumbent’s responsibility includes attending meetings, tracking, maintaining, and reporting on the T & E Section’s projects. The incumbent will demonstrate leadership abilities by presenting potential solutions to problems, shares ideas about improvements, efficiencies, and innovations.  Incumbent will be an active participant in the Training and Exercise review process.

 

Exercise Design & Delivery- The incumbent is responsible to be the project lead in the design, development, and implementation of exercises to test plans and capabilities consistent with established Bureau procedures and federal grant requirements and in coordination with partners. This position will assist the T&E Administrator and provide support in a key role (i.e., Exercise Director, Lead Controller, Lead SIMCELL Controller, Lead Evaluator, Safety Officer, Lead Planner) to all exercises each fiscal year. This responsibility includes maintaining competency with Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP) principles and practices.

 

Integrated Preparedness Planning Workshop (IPPW) - The incumbent is responsible for contributing to the planning, coordinating, and managing of the annual IPPW in accordance with grant requirements. The output of the IPPW effort will be a high-quality regional training and exercise snapshot of the state inserted into the Multi-Year Integrated Preparedness Plan. 

 

Response Role - During an incident or event, demonstrates ability to effectively serve in a role designated on the Bureau of Preparedness and Response ESF-8, 3-deep roster. 

 

Meeting Management- Incumbent is responsible to facilitate and/or support meetings necessary to implement T & E projects. Incumbent will participate in routine and ad hoc working groups, advisory groups, or committees necessary to implement T & E projects. Responsibilities include documenting and communicating meeting objectives, agendas, tracking progress and notes based on established Bureau procedures and timelines.

Qualifications:

Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.  Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
