Division of Retirement:
The mission of the Division of Retirement (division) is to deliver a high quality, innovative, and cost-effective retirement system. The division currently has 221 full-time retirement staff and manages a FY 2025-26 operating budget of $48,864,720. The division administers the Florida Retirement System (FRS) Pension Plan, currently the fourth largest state retirement system in the US with more than 1.1 million active, retired, and terminated vested and non-vested members and $191.6 billion in assets. The division pays out $12.9 billion a year in retiree benefits and maintains the service history, vesting and membership status records, and collects nearly $5.5 billion annually in employer and employee contributions from more than 1,000 employers for all FRS members. 

 

The Work You Will Do:
As a Government Analyst II you will create and maintain educational and marketing multimedia content such as short-form videos, employee and employer training and presentations, print publications and brochures, and other web content.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
Provide training and other presentations in-person and online to FRS-participating employers on topics that provide in-depth knowledge and understanding of the FRS Pension Plan and the employers’ responsibilities under the Plan.

Attend benefit fairs throughout the state, such as during Open Enrollment, giving retirement participants the opportunity to learn about how the Division of Retirement delivers a high-quality, innovative, and cost-effective retirement system, and discuss how to properly plan for their future. 

Identify future content needs for the division’s broad audience of active members, retirees, and employers.

Minimum Qualifications:

Six years of professional experience in the area of insurance, retirement or social security, administration, call center, customer service, fiscal work, statistics, or personnel. A postsecondary degree may be used as an alternative for years of experience on a year-for-year basis.

Professional experience in the areas described or any combination of the above, can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
One (1) year experience in business and/or technical writing.

 


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with project management.
Real-world experience with graphics design (we may request a portfolio if you are interviewed).
Experience with teaching and answering questions in front of a large group.
Experience with quality control.
