Your Specific Responsibilities:

Independent planning and evaluation work, performing the functions assigned to the Department under the Community Planning Act (Chapter 163, Part II, Florida Statutes).  This includes processing comprehensive plans and comprehensive plan amendments; coordinating reviews with other state and regional agencies and local governments; executing technical assistance to aid local governments in the preparation, implementation and revision of local comprehensive plans and evaluation and appraisal process.

 

  1. Assists with initial in-depth review processing, tracking, filing, and routing of local government proposed and adopted comprehensive plans, comprehensive plan amendments and evaluation and appraisal notifications to ensure compliance with Chapter 163, Part II, Florida Statutes (F.S.).
  2. Assists in providing technical assistance to local governments in meeting the statutory requirements of Chapter 163, Part II, and 380, F.S., and applicable rules, F.A.C. Responds to written and telephone requests for information related to procedural and data requirements.

     3. Responsible for special projects related to the Community Planning Act.

     4. Responsible for inputting and tracking data related to Chapter 163, Part II, F.S., and generating appropriate reports.

     5. Responsible for preparing legal notice of intent for posting on Department internet site for each adopted state coordinated comprehensive plan and plan

         amendment pursuant to Chapter 163, Part II, F.S.

     6. Provide administrative back up to Bureau support/administrative staff when staff is absent, or workload requires assistance

     7. Assist with onboard training for new employees related to the role of their duties and responsibilities and how they will interact with the employees in carrying out

         both of their job-related duties and responsibilities.

     8. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to use database systems, prepare reports and conduct related follow-up activities.
  • Ability to analyze data.
  • Ability to independently exercise sound judgement performing duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments. 
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and manage time efficiently.  

 

Pay: $39,320.81 annually
