Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position works in the Division of Children’s Medical Services (CMS), Bureau of Child Protection and Special Technology and reports to the Public Health Services Manager F-SES.  This position is responsible for processing provider applications for the Child Protection Team programs.

 

Serves as the Statewide Child Protection Team (CPT) Approval Specialist. Manage CPT provider hiring process. Primary contact for CPT providers with inquiries related to Physician and Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner approval requirements. Responsible for reviewing and maintaining CPT Medical Provider applications and medical provider credentials to ensure compliance with Florida law. Collaborate with the CPT Statewide Medical Director regarding Section 39.303(2)(b), F.S. to ensure compliance. Create and provide monthly eligibility and Florida Certification Board reports.

 

Ensure that the required CPT providers are properly background and drug screened in accordance with DOH policy. Completes HR tickets to onboard CPT and SATP field office staff. Collaborate with the Special Technology Unit to permit CPTIS access for screened and approved CPT providers.

 

Monitor CPT providers Level II Background Screening dates monthly to ensure that the five-year DOH policy requirement is met. Liaise with contract managers to ensure that CPT providers comply with DOH Background and Drug Screening policies.

 

Schedule Level II Background and Drug Screening appointments when applicable. Create FLHealthHR Desk tickets in the DOH data system. Records Management Liaison Officer (RMLO) for the Division of CMS. Maintain a portion of the State Health Improvement Plan (SHIP) to ensure compliance.

 

Assist in the daily administrative duties including, but not limited to: creating forms, reports, drafting letters, answering calls, incoming and outgoing mail, preparation of purchase requisitions, copying, filing, scanning, and equipment maintenance.  Attend meetings, workshops, conferences or seminars related to assigned areas of responsibility.

 

Consults with the Bureau Chief of Child Protection and Special Technology and provides recommendations for policy, procedure, and system changes and improvements. Other related duties as assigned.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to work independently and prioritize work assignments to manage provider hiring process; Ability to understand, interpret and apply laws, rules, policies, procedures, and regulations.  Skills in FLHealthHR Desk data system, Access, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and database programs; Ability to access, collect, analyze information from data systems and other programs; Ability to prepare charts and other required reports; Ability to communicate verbally and in writing; Skills in maintaining effective relationships with other staff, providers, consumers, and agencies; Able to maintain strict confidentiality.

 

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License (Travel is required to attend off-site job fairs, interviews and meetings as needed).

 

Preferred Qualifications, Education and Experience:

  • Professional-level human resource management experience with an agency in the State of Florida’s State Personnel System.

  • A bachelor's degree from a college or university is preferred and two years of Human Resources/Personnel and/or Administrative related experience.
  • A master's degree from a college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the preferred college education.
  • Two years of experience using Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Two years of experience writing formal business communications, including emails.
