Full-time Career Service Position Salary: $38,175.80

Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position performs intermediate level work related to background checks as required by Florida Statutes.

Review background screening reports received for individuals as required by Florida Statutes. Prepare timely electronic correspondence regarding the outcomes of background screening findings and notification of rejected fingerprints while adhering to state and federal regulations regarding background screenings.

Prepare invoices for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Annual Fingerprint Retention Notification Program. Identify any deficiencies and report findings to supervisor as needed.

Send and receive requests for additional information relating to criminal history findings and send the provided information to supervisor for further review.

Prepare and maintain electronic records of background screenings. This includes timely recording the necessary data from background screening findings and preparing reports of the data for management as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficient computer skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; knowledge of computer data bases; knowledge and use of the compliance management system and licensing system used by the Agency; knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures and government rules & regulations; knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar; understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents; communicating effectively with others in writing; talking to others to effectively convey information; knowing how to find information and identifying essential information; observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources; providing information to supervisors, fellow workers, and subordinates.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; and/Or
  • 1 year of professional experience in reviewing or auditing documents; applying state and

federal statutes, rules or policies and procedures

  • Must have a valid Driver's License, satisfactorily complete a background investigation, fingerprinting, and participation in direct deposit are requirements for employment.
