ADVERTISING TITLE: GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS CONSULTANT I

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office, Tallahassee, FL in the Bureau of Education.

The mission of the Bureau of Education is to enhance educational programs within the Florida Department of Corrections by developing innovative tools and providing technical assistance to staff. We aim to ensure the successful implementation of new systems and support the educational advancement of our personnel through cutting-edge technology.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Develops and reviews programs, services, forms, and reports, and confers with management and users to identify problems and improvements.
  • Develops data collection and technical assistance tools and provides access to educational staff.
  • Confers with personnel concerned to ensure the successful functioning of newly implemented systems or procedures.
  • Assists with all processes conducted within the Academic Education section.
  • Provides support to Central Office, Regional and Institutional staff in the use of educational technology.

  • Knowledge of Florida Department of Corrections operational policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and practices.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must possess experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting data.
  • Must have experience using SharePoint.
  • Must have experience using Power BI.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in MS Suite (Word, Teams, and Excel)
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or related experience is preferred.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT

The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
