ADVERTISING TITLE: GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS CONSULTANT I
This open competitive advertisement is for an OPS (Other Personal Services) position located at Southwood in the Finance & Accounting department.
The purpose of this position is to optimize Florida Department of Corrections financial operations by applying the rules of the State of Florida HR, and MFMP/AOD.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Handles all administrative functions for the Bureau of Finance and Accounting (F&A).
- HR Operations: Handles all human resource tasks in compliance with State of Florida HRM standards.
- Communication & Office Technology: Delivers clear oral and written communications using professional problem-solving techniques, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and standard fiscal equipment.
- Financial Systems: Utilizes Works and MFMP while handling all purchase orders and pcard purchases for the Bureau.

OPS employees who work an average of 30 hours or more per week are eligible to enroll in state group insurance plans. Standard PPO/HMO Options include:

- Life - FDC offers a $25,000 group term life insurance plan to eligible OPS staff through Securian at the low monthly premium of $3.78. When enrolled in basic life, employees may also elect child life and spouse life insurance plans.
- Retirement - As an OPS employee, the Florida FICA Alternative Plan with Corebridge Financial affords you an excellent opportunity to help accumulate money for a secure retirement. You contribute 7.5% of your compensation to this tax deferred plan. All OPS employees are required to participate in this plan and are automatically enrolled.
REQUIREMENTS:

- A high school diploma or its equivalent AND two (2) years of experience in accounting, auditing, or finance.
Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Accounts payable/disbursement and MFMP/Works experience.
- 2 years of Human Resource (HR) experience
