The position serves as a Graphic Designer reporting to the Communications Director. Create visuals for division projects such as websites, flyers, posters, displays, social media and presentations.

A successful candidate for the Government Operations Consultant II position will be proactive and passionate about the agency’s success and the public’s perception of the agency.

This position requires the employee to work with computers, process information, conduct research, create visuals and establish/maintain professional relationships. 

Tasks include:

  • Partner with IT on website design, content, maintenance and metrics
  • Partner with IT on developing site maps, monitoring metrics, and maintenance for VR intranet
  • Graphic design and material development
  •  Responsible for content audits and inventories, content lifecycles on SharePoint & Rehabworks website
  • Collecting, evaluating and analyzing data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of internal and external communication channels.
  •  Checking & converting documents/media into accessible formats
  •  Video editing, captioning and YouTube channel maintenance
  • Assists in the planning of Division publications by collaborating with various units to gather articles, photos, or graphics; coordinating submissions from external partners; tracking publications in the review process and archiving publications as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with other agency staff to produce and edit digital media such as videos (both short-form and long-form), photographs, PowerPoint presentations, web images, advertisements, animations, and other communications tools.
  • Checks and confirms facts, information and photo credits within the agency and with a multitude of external entities as required.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

A qualified candidate should have:

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, strong critical thinking, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects at one time.
  • The ability to plan, organize, coordinate and complete work assignments and projects according to established deadlines.
  • The ability to positively communicate and build relationships with a variety of professionals including staff and vendors.
  • The ability to listen effectively, understand and evaluate information/data.
  • Experience in using Microsoft 365 apps including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud applications including (but not limited to) Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience in creating digital media that complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act Standards.

 

 Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a designer in a professional or freelance setting.
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or completion of a program of study from a vocational/technical school, or community college in communication, journalism, public relations, graphic design or related field is preferred but not required.
