Contract Administrator – Government Operations Consultant II

This requisition may be used to hire multiple candidates.

The Office of Contracted Client Services (DCF) anticipates the need to fill a contract administrator position in Tallahassee.  This ad may be used to fill more than one position. The position is a Government Operations Consultant II.  This position does not telecommute and requires a Monday through Friday, 8-hour daily work schedule.

 

This is a highly responsible and professional position providing technical assistance, support and consultation to Department contract managers, contract manager supervisors, and other contracting staff in the development and administration of contractual documents. The selected candidate needs to be self-motivated, be able to follow instructions quickly, possesses the ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision, be a team player who takes accountability and personal ownership of delivering for our customers and staff. 

 

This position:

  • Assists with the development and review of agency contracts and grants.
  • Advises and supports the Policy Team in the development of contracting processes and policies.
  • Conducts file reviews on the Department’s contracting files, per statute and policy.
  • Conducts detailed reviews of all contracts and contract related documents to ensure documents comply with established polices, rules and statutes.
  • Develops and provides training to contract managers, contract manager supervisors, and other Department staff.
  • Provides technical assistance to Department contract staff on all issues that arise related to contracts.

Candidates are required to have the following:

  • Awareness of and ability to apply Florida Statutes on governmental procurement and contracts or grants.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred candidates will also have:

  • Professional experience, of at least two years, in contractual management and procurement as well as contract laws, rules, and regulations, as evidenced by your supporting resume and State of Florida application.
  • Professional experience as a procurement manager, contract manager or contract administrator.
  • Professional experience in training staff.
  • Florida Certified Contract Manager (FCCM) or Certified Negotiator (FCCN) designation
  • Project Manager Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Professional experience in applying principles, regulations, and statutes related to Florida Government in the Sunshine, Open Government, and Public Records.

Some travel may be required, usually day travel and occasionally overnight travel.  Salary is expected to be $48,000-$58,000 and will be based on experience and background of the candidate and the available budget.
