What you will do:

This is a Government Operations Consultant II position with the Office of Systems and Workforce Development unit. The incumbent will be responsible for composing technical procedures in policy manuals by collaborating with management, and other department heads to gain a thorough understanding of each area’s operations. The incumbent will also be responsible for researching, writing, and assisting with implementing procedure standards for a specific business unit, as well as revising and modifying existing operation manuals.

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Write, update, and maintain clear, concise, and accurate procedures and process documents
  • Research and implement procedure standards and best practices for a specific business unit
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement process improvement opportunities
  • Analyze business processes to determine documentation needs and ensure alignment with organizational goals
  • Facilitate and deliver training sessions to personnel on procedures and processes, as assigned
  • Process mapping and/or writing procedures
  • Maintain documentation in an organized and accessible format, adhering to internal standards
  • Conduct both virtual and in-person training sessions, as required, to deliver training or support process documentation initiatives (travel occasionally required)  
  • Design, enhance, and organize training materials across various platforms using engaging, innovative methods
  • Revise and modify existing operations manuals to reflect changes in processes or compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain inventory of deliverables
  • Manage regular documentation reviews with SMEs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and relevance
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience process mapping and/or writing procedures
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field
