Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is an independent and complex administrative/consultative position assisting the Operations & Management Consultant Manager and Bureau Chief of Program Operations carrying out responsibilities necessary for the efficient functioning of MD Program Operations.  This position is a highly analytical position that requires extensive knowledge of the Social Security Disability Program Determinations portion of the Title II and Title XVI of the Social Security Act.

Prepares statistical and analytical reports as requested.

Maintains Operational tracking reports reflecting current agency performance measures.

Highlights trends in production, processing time, and cost effectiveness.

Alerts Operations management to potential areas of concern.

Obtains data to evaluate new Operational initiatives or modifications to existing business processes.

Gathers relevant data to perform data analysis.

Provides summary results to Operations management.

Recommends corrective action, when appropriate.

Provides research, technical assistance, consultation and support to management of the operational units and SSA in tracking individual claims on the federal and state data systems.  Provides individual case input and instruction as directed by Operations management. 

Advises management on problems and policies related to programmatic and operations issues.

Performs related work as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, function, dysfunction, and disease processes.

Knowledge of computer operation, and office automation equipment.

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to the processing of Social Security disability benefits.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current Division of Disability Determinations employee.

At least 3 years’ experience as a Disability Adjudicator.

Working knowledge of creating and maintaining spreadsheets.
