JOB SUMMARY:
This position requires strong technical, analytical, and collaborative skills. The incumbent will serve as a key contributor within Configuration Management, with secondary support for Change Management processes.
Configuration Management is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of Configuration Items (CIs) and their relationships within the Department’s IT environment. This includes supporting the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), enforcing data standards, and ensuring alignment with audit and risk requirements.
The incumbent will collaborate with technical teams and service owners to maintain configuration data, support discovery tools, reconcile data sources, and validate CI relationships. The role also supports governance activities, including audits, compliance reviews, and process improvements.
In support of Change Management, the incumbent will assist with impact analysis, ensure proper CI association within Requests for Change, and help maintain process compliance.
The role includes supporting the administration and enhancement of ITSM tools used for Configuration and Change Management by gathering requirements, contributing to specifications, and validating solutions.
Additionally, the incumbent will assist with training, support team members, and promote adherence to established processes and standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and communicates effectively across technical and business teams.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue.
- Four (4) years of professional experience in information technology, systems analysis, technical support, or IT operations.
- Experience working in an IT Service Management (ITSM) environment supporting operational processes.
- Experience in ITIL-based processes, including Change Management and Configuration Management.
- Experience analyzing, documenting, and maintaining technical or business requirements.
- Experience with data validation, reconciliation, or reporting in an enterprise IT environment.
PREFERENCES:
- Experience using ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Cherwell.
- Experience supporting Configuration Management Database (CMDB) data, including CI lifecycle and relationship management.
- Experience supporting audit, compliance, or risk reporting activities in an IT environment.
- Experience working with discovery tools or automated data population processes.
- Familiarity with ITSM tool configuration, workflow support, or minor system enhancements.
- ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent ITSM knowledge.
SPECIAL NOTES:
- Position located in Tallahassee, Florida (2450 Shumard Oak Blvd.).
- This position is not eligible for telework.
SALARY: The tentative salary for this position is $54,072.14.
