WORKING TITLE: GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS CONSULTANT II

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Tallahassee, FL in the Office of Health Services.

The mission of the Office of Health Services in the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to provide comprehensive, quality healthcare to inmates in a manner that is professional, ethical, and cost-effective.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • HSB and Forms Control: Serve as the HSB and Forms Control Administrator, maintaining the table of contents and ensuring DC Web content is current.
  • Timely Revisions: Disseminate HSBs and forms for timely revisions, additions, and deletions to health services rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Records Request Coordination: Act as the Statewide OHS Records Request Coordinator, managing all records requests and ensuring timely responses.
  • Professional Input: Collaborate with discipline directors and experts to ensure professional input, eliminate duplicative procedures, and write clear policy directives.
  • Policy Management: Work with the Bureau of Policy Management and Inmate Appeals to develop, approve, and distribute procedures and forms that comply with legal standards.
  • Review Coordination: Coordinate and track reviews of HSBs, policies, and procedures by Legal, CHCC, and CMA.
  • Research and Compliance: Assist in researching laws, standards, and literature to ensure policies conform to acceptable care levels and present findings for policy updates.
  • Support and Communication: Provide support for CMA surveys and ACA accreditations and serve as a contact for contracted facilities regarding new or revised OHS policies and procedures. Develop project management documents and maintain records to ensure compliance and effectiveness.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Must have experience in planning, prioritizing, organizing, and coordinating work assignments.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially with managing and maintaining documents, track changes and formatting. (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Must have six (6) years of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, engineering or administrative work.
    • Postsecondary education may substitute on a year for year basis for the required experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working in the health care setting.
  • Experience in a correctional organization.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT

The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
