Your Specific Responsibilities:
The GOC III support the implementation, administration, and oversight of Florida’s Economic Development Programs under the purview of the Department of Florida Commerce’s Division of Economic Development. Duties and responsibilities will include the following:
- Participate in every phase of the economic development project process.
- Evaluate program applications to ensure statutory requirements and policy guidelines are met.
- Play a key role in connection with the approval of economic development projects.
- Coordinate the development of business analyses, reports and presentations to facilitate making important business decisions.
- Conduct and manage financial, business and legal due diligence (e.g. credit analysis, industry analysis and competitive position.
- Evaluate potential transactions and assist in the negotiation of such transactions.
- Prepare contracts and agreements as necessary.
- Analyze state and applicable federal legislation or regulations that may impact Florida’s economic development programs and prepare briefings, as necessary, for leadership.
- Work with the Bureau Chief to recommend policies and procedures for program administration to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work cooperatively with partners and provide excellent customer service to applicants.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.
Minimum:
- Duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of the Department.
- Travel - may be required.
Preferred:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or two years of previous economic development or program management experience.
Pay:
$50,000 - $60,000

The Work You Will Do:
This position provides program oversight and technical assistance to businesses, non-profits, communities and other participants in programs housed in the Bureau of Business Development. Programs include the Community Contribution Tax Credit, the Urban Jobs Tax Credit, the Rural Jobs Tax Credit and the Research and Development Tax Credit and others as needed. The position is responsible for program processes, including application reviews, eligibility determinations, and records management.
