ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION AND OPPORTUNITY
The Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office is Florida’s award-winning, state-funded child advocacy organization that provides independent legal representation to abused, abandoned and neglected children in Florida’s dependency court proceedings and recruits community volunteers to provide the children with representation and support. The Office upholds the highest standards of integrity, excellence and child centered representation. The Guardian ad Litem Regional Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Director of Volunteer Recruitment (Recruitment Director) in developing and implementing the statewide strategic plan for the recruitment and retention of community volunteers at the Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office (GAL Office). Volunteers may include both attorneys (pro bono attorneys), and non-attorney volunteers. Volunteers with the GAL Office may serve on cases as part of a GAL multidisciplinary team, as mentors, or for any other approved purpose. The Regional Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator will also assist the Recruitment Director in planning and conducting GAL Office events and will facilitate community outreach activities, data collection and management in collaboration with the Office’s recruitment teams in the assigned region.

ABOUT THE WORK
This is a highly results-oriented, independent position responsible for recruitment and retention of community volunteers at the Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office (GAL Office). Some examples of a “typical” working day may include the following:
- This position will facilitate community outreach activities in collaboration with the Office of Volunteer Recruitment and circuit volunteer recruiters under the direction of the Director of Recruitment.
- Will be responsible for development and implementation of the Statewide recruitment and retention plan in collaboration with the Volunteer Recruitment Team as directed.
- Will assist in the recruitment and retention of volunteers for any approved purpose including but not limited to: volunteers serving as part of a GAL multidisciplinary team assigned to represent a child, mentors, and pro bono GAL attorneys representing a child’s legal interests.
- Will provide support to the Pro Bono Recruitment Coordinator as directed.
- Will be responsible for the development and implementation of volunteer training as directed.
- This position will be responsible for tracking and compiling volunteer data and information in compliance with GAL Office policy including, but not limited to, providing weekly mentor data reports and stories as directed.
- Will serve as the statewide circuit volunteer support coordinator for assigned areas.
- Will assist with connecting volunteers with resources including assisting mentees with identified needs such as HOPE Florida, Office of Continuing Care, the Care Portal, etc.
- Will follow all communication policies. This position will collaborate with the Communications Director to employ various communication and marketing strategies to deliver effective recruiting and educational programs.
- Will assist with event planning activities as directed by the Director of Recruitment.
- Will assist with statewide training events as directed by the Director of Recruitment.

- Knowledge of and proficiency in interviewing, screening, selecting, and training volunteers or staff
ABOUT THE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The following are education and experience requirements for prospective Regional Mentor Coordinator position candidates:
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in marketing, business, psychology, or communications
- Two years of relevant experience in direct sales/marketing or non-profit, community outreach programs involving volunteer recruiting and management.
