SALARY RANGE

$ 45,000.02- $50,000.08 Annually                       $1,730.77 - $1,923.08 Bi-weekly

Position Summary

The Agency for Persons with Disabilities employees must demonstrate total commitment to outstanding customer service. This includes, but is not limited to, acting in a responsive, professional, courteous manner with the employees, customers, and the public we serve at all times.

This is a professional position in the Human Resources Office responsible for providing technical assistance to staff regarding Attendance and Leave, Payroll and Benefits, Workers’ Compensation, and other personnel programs.

 

The Work You Will Do 

Administers the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Family Supportive Work Program (FSWP), and Workers’ Compensation process for State Office and the Regions process. Tracks and manages these programs to ensure compliance and accuracy.

 

Administers the Parental Leave to HR portal by tracking and managing this program to ensure compliance and accuracy.

 

Serves as a member of the safety committee.

 

Responsible for managing and providing various HR reports related to the functional area.

 

File management for Personnel that include uploading files/documents to electronic filing system.

 

Completes the process for the Student Loan Forgiveness Program, Tuition Waiver, and income verification.

 

Completes the direct deposit requests process.

 

Monitors, processes, and tracks Sick Leave Donations (SLD) and maintains an accurate spreadsheet of SLD members and SLD usage.

 

Assist with developing and providing and or developing and providing training related to duties within this functional area.

 

Participates in the development, updating, and implementation of Human Resources’ policies and procedures to ensure that the Agency complies with Collective Bargaining, equal employment opportunity, civil rights laws and rules, and state laws, Statutes, and governing authorities.

 

Serves as backup to all Payroll and Retirement functions.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • A valid Driver's License or other efficient means of transportation.

 

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.

 

  • Must have at least one year of experience processing FMLA and/or FSWP.

 

  • Experience in Human Resources within the State Personnel System, including using People First for HR processes, processing requests under the Sick Leave plan or pool, Workers’ Compensation. And/or Parental Leave.

Direct Deposit Program

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program.  Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.

Background Screening Requirement

It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
