Duties and Responsibilities
This position is responsible for supervising staff in the Manufactured Housing Installer License and HUD Office. The incumbent is responsible for scheduling a fair distribution of workload and ensuring a safe environment for staff. Additionally collecting data, managing records, licensing, regulation and compliance of mobile home installers, issuance of mobile home decals and HUD labels is overseen by this position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of personal computers, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to lead, delegate, motivate and supervise staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to understand and apply laws, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Florida Statutes applying to Manufactured Homes and mobile home installer licensing.
- Ability to prepare reports.
- Ability to interact with the public in a tactful and courteous manner while using strong customer service skills.
- Ability to oversee management and maintenance of the unit.
- Skill in planning, organizing and coordinating work assignments.
- Ability to utilize problem solving techniques.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with others.
- Knowledge of Florida Real-Time Vehicle Information System (FRVIS.)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
- Florida Real-Time Vehicle Information System (FRVIS.)
- Preparing written communication, to include reports, memos, and/or correspondence.
- Knowledge of manufactured homes, licensure of mobile home installers, and HUD.
General Information
- The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.

- FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
