POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position serves as the Recruitment and Selection Coordinator, overseeing agency requisitions, classification and pay activities, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and policies. The role provides expert guidance to managers and HR liaisons, manages personnel actions and system audits, coordinates HR communication efforts, and supports process improvements across recruitment and classification functions.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Review and approve agency requisitions submitted through People First (PF).

Coordinate classification and pay activities for Detention, Administration, and Health Services, ensuring compliance with laws, rules, and agency policies.

Assist in developing policies and procedures related to classification and pay.

Analyze recruitment and selection processes and recommend improvements.

Provide guidance to managers, supervisors, and employees on classification, pay, recruitment, and selection issues.

Conduct independent research and analysis to support process improvements and compliance.

Maintain the agency’s official organizational charts.

Ensure required Individuals with Disabilities (IWD) training is added to new supervisors’ and managers’ SkillPro profiles.

Add new users to the Human Resources Employment System (HRES) User Group.

Provide recommendations on spending restrictions, classification, and pay provisions based on pay band levels, position attributes, and salary.

Serve as compliance reviewer and PAR maintenance liaison for personnel actions.

Generate letter of offers for all Headquarters positions.

Submit system maintenance requests when issues arise.

Coordinate HR Liaison conference calls, including agenda development, research, and communication with participants.

Assist HR liaisons with compliance tasks related to Selective Service, immigration status, interviewing, and selection.

Verify accuracy of manager and liaison entries in PF; perform system audits and collaborate with PF on corrections.

Complete special projects and develop or update training materials as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, INCLUDING UTILIZATION OF EQUIPMENT, REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:

Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis, basic management principles and practices.

Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices.

Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.

Ability to conduct fact-finding research, utilize problem-solving techniques and work independently.

Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

Ability to communicate effectively, establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and the ability to administer multiple projects simultaneously. 

Ability to coordinate a consultative program designed to ensure the resolution of managerial and operational problems. 

Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments.

Ability to assess budgetary needs.

Ability to formulate policies and procedures.

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities.
