General Summary

This individual functions as a liaison in the Office of the Majority Leader for legislators by developing and providing resources, communications, problem-solving assistance, and trainings.

Examples of Work Performed

•Creates impactful messages and resources related to legislation to help legislators and their staff communicate with their district.
•Understands a communication’s audience and tailors the messaging accordingly.
•Researches and drafts meaningful training for legislators.
•Monitors the progress of legislation through committees of reference and on the floor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

•Strong communication, organizational, and writing skills.
•Knowledge of Florida state government.
•Ability to work cooperatively as a team member and to contribute to the efficient internal functioning of the office staff.
•Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications

•A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of professional experience in research, analysis, program planning and evaluation, or administrative work.
•A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.
•A doctorate from an accredited college or university can substitute for two years of the required experience.
•Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

Preferred Qualifications

•Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop; Canva; Mailchimp; etc.
