Duties and Responsibilities
This position is responsible for providing leadership, coaching and guidance to the Desktop Support and Technical Assistance Center (TAC) functional teams. The position will strive to attain measurable best in class performance from each of the functional teams. The position will provide best practice guidance, and align resources within each group to support the Department’s mission. Position will utilize IT Service Management best practice.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to analyze data, identify problem areas, make improvement recommendations, and implement approved recommendations
- Ability to lead dynamically and energize multi-discipline work teams and apply new skills/techniques to business needs
- Ability to lead and direct front line managers in a fast paced call center and desktop support environment
- Knowledge of and experience with organizational change management techniques
- Knowledge of IT Service tracking tools such as ServiceNow
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity
- Ability to quickly assimilate information and make time-boxed decisions
- Ability to communicate and thrive in a cross-functional environment
- Ability to facilitate group interactions, leading to quantifiable outcomes
- Proven success in team building, employee motivation and interpersonal skills
- Four-year information technology degree or comparable work experience
- Proven success in and a passion for Process development, implementation and improvement skills

- Overall IT industry knowledge
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications (including Microsoft Project)

Job Related Requirements
- The position you are applying is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. Please note that, since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all an applicant’s criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged.
General Information
- The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
- Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
- FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
