SPECIAL NOTES:
Four (4) years of experience in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field is required. A bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field; OR an associate degree Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field, and (2) years of the required experience may substitute for the required experience.
Additional requirements:
- Eight (8) years of experience as a Computer Systems Engineer.
- Five (5) years of experience developing plans that safeguarded computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification.
- Three (3) years of experience monitoring the use of data files and regulating access to safeguard information in computer files.
- Experience coordinating the implementation of computer systems plans with technical staff and outside vendors.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (English Proficient).
Background check and fingerprinting is required.
This position may be required to occasionally perform duties other than those listed on the position description.
The salary range for this position is $90,000.00- $110,000.00 annually.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of best practices related to IT.
- Knowledge of Florida statutes, rules related to IT and information security.
- Knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) security standards.
- Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems.
- Knowledge of electric circuit boards, processors, chips, computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
- Knowledge of computer systems analysis and design and associated techniques.
- Knowledge of some or all of the following: weaponry, public safety, security operations, rules, regulations, precautions, prevention, protection of people, data and property.
- Ability to analyze, interpret and operationalize statutes, rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to write policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ability to analyze and interpret computer related data.
- Ability to communicate business information effectively and in writing to users and information technology personnel.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to determine work priorities, assign work and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Monitor reports on data accesses, endpoint detection events, and firewall logs for anomalies. Review and remediate issues found from these threat intelligence sources. Implement technical controls that will provide adequate security for the Department’s IT assets. Coordinate the implementation of secure standards for IT infrastructure operation, workstation administration, and software development.
